Wow, just wow. The screen of this thing is unbelievable! I'm so glad I went for the AG option!

So far so good. Love the screen real estate. The only downside is that the keyboard, feels kinda loose compared to the MBA.

The MBA looks tiny next to the 17".

Off to set it up! :D

Attached some photos (taken with the iPhone).

Whoa, thanks for the Mac p:apple:rn!

A 17" MBP and a 13" MBAir; you really have the best of both worlds!

ROCK'IN bud :D That's what I'd get also, now its the only MBP with matte and the cool thin silver bezel. What speed processor and drive. did you get the SSD?

PS: where's that numeric keypad Apple? Its just a sea of silver. there's space. Please put in a full KB next round

Numeric keypad = off-center keyboard and touchpad = no way!!

I think you may have just cemented my decision to buy the Anti-Glare rather than the glass screen. It just looks... right.

thats the same model I bought... gotta wait about a week until mine gets there..

Need more macpron...

You wouldn't want to use any glossy screen after using THIS screen. You'll appreciate it once you start using it. Colors look great, and glare is not a problem anymore. Best of both worlds.

One more thing, it is so easy on the eyes, I, for one, always had eye strains while using glossy screens. But with matte, it's a joy to use the laptop now.

HTH.

Cheers

Got HDD as I'm planning to replace it with a 512GB SSD. Meanwhile, I could use the extra space.

is the AG screen the same as the matte screens of the classic MBP's? or are they different

512GB ? -- PriCEY

BTW which screen is better, the MBP or MBA

I never had the classic MBP, so cannot tell, but judging from the comparison photos posted here on MR, it's definitely a new model, with the increased gamut. It just looks stunning.

sorry i meant to ask about the COATING on the screens rather than the model/type of display.

Which screen is better out of your MBP & MBA?

I don't like the matte, the screen looks washed out compared the Air's screen. Also the missing black bezel looks wrong. To each his own.

Well, maybe it was the brightness settings on the 17" or the angle, but looking at this pic, not so sure which is washed out and which is not. (both are on full brightness).

The MBP's hands down.

As for the coating, i believe it's different.

very impressive...i think i have made up my mind on the 17"

mine's in shanghai, slated to arrive monday. cannot bloody wait (had waited well over a year to finally pull the trigger up an antiglare 17" mbp).

A lot of people don't realize that when you turn on your MBP for the first time the brightness is only at about 1/2.

Kick it up to full on a matte screen and just admire all the beauty.

Also, there is a HUGE difference in the look of the 1st Gen matte screen and the new matte screen. The brightness is unrivaled by far.

i still like the old macbook pro design , all silver and the classes silver keyboard Muahh. i dont really like the new one :(

Hey hey... posting this too, from my new AG 17".

Got the previous 2.66/4GB/320GB model for a good price ;)

Absolutely stunning display.
