then post a bigger one so that I, or rather we can drool at... :p

gosh, you guys just made me wanna ditch my MP to get a 17" MBP....

That's exactly what i did.
I ditched my Mac Pro + Cinema Display and went for the 17".

Luckily the 17" still has the Express Card slot, so editing with Sony SxS cards is a breeze and the resolution is the same as on my old 23" Display...

I'm happy!

Well, here you go. This is the best my iPhone can do

For my defense, it is not mine. It is my girlfriends :)

And there's another reason why i love this machine. I can work pretty much everywhere...

Congrats, I just picked up a 17" AG MBP about 3 weeks ago. I am really pleased with the AG option as the colors are perfect for working with photos. No glare either if I take it outside.

Are you by chance on the M5Board?

@mcvaughan, I sure am! Gotta love the community over there. This forum is so crowded that I couldn't find any of my usernames to use here. You drive an E60 M5 too?

I'm attaching another blurry photo to this thread.

I do. :) Gustav runs a great site. Nice to see another familiar face.

Hey OP, as well as everyone else who bought a new 17 inch,

First off congrats!!!:D

Secondly, I was hoping someone could test something for me. Now assuming that you have good hearing, and can hear high frequency tones, when your backlight is set anywhere from about half to 3/4 of the way up, can you hear any sort of high pitched, I guess you could describe it as a ringing, coming from the left side?

I also bought a new 17 inch, and I've run into this particular problem on 2 units, not sure if its actually something I ought to be worried about, however its INCREDIBLY ANNOYING... I'm curious to see if I'm just having bad luck or if these are all built like that.

I've had 3 17"s and all of them exhibit this problem. Anyway I find the coating on the AG not as tough as the old MBPs where they all came in AG. Mine has like "micro" scratches already (I take great care in cleaning them), not visible at all unless u take a torch and shine it up close. I can treat my old 15" a bit rougher and the screen is still perfect.

Just tested it, I hear nothing at any given level. Yours is also AG?

And here I saw the same thing, but instead I was thinking "Geez, you drive a Mercedes and can't get a decent camera to upload a pic of your 17" MBP and iPhone to MacRumors." ;)

(I kid).

lolx... speechless... :D

but yeah, I would love to see him taking a hi-res pic of his MBP and posting it up so that I could use it as a wallpaper to remind myself of quickly ditching my MP for a portable beast of this... :p

Does the bezel match the body? It looks shiny in the pictures. The body has a more brushed look.
