I have the 65W white square adapter for my 17" Powerbook, and I have the Yo-Yo adapter for my 12" Ibook (G3 500 mhz).

Is there any reason why I cannot use the 65W adapter on my 12" book in place of the Yo-Yo adapter? (I know for power requirement reasons I cannot use the Yo-Yo on my 17")

There was no polarity change or anything that would stop me from using it is there?

You'll be fine both ways. The PowerBook adaptor will throttle back its power to accommodate for the iBook and the iBook adaptor will work on the PowerBook but may not keep up with its charging needs and therefore you might be tapping into the PowerBook's battery occasionally despite running from the adaptor. As such, it's better for your battery in the long run to not use the iBook adaptor in it, but that wasn't your question. :p
