Power code detected, but not charging?

Please help, has anyone seen this before?

Cord is plugged in and is being detected, but says not charging! No green/red light on cord. But the laptop seems to know its there.

Is this common? Any quick fixes? I have already tried a reboot

EDIT, this is on a 15" mid 2012 MBP

Ultimately what worked (so far, for last 10min) was using an air can to blow out the connector and the port. Plugged it back in and in a few moments all seems to be working fine.
