Power Consumption on Sleep

How long can full-charged battery last on SLEEP ONLY ?

I also wonder if it's more power-economical to turn the device off instead of putting it to sleep (when the downtime is going to be more than 30 mins)

I'm finding mine would last a few days if it was just left to sleep. I usually leave it overnight, and sometimes the battery hasn't even dropped. Other times it's just 1-2%.

My ipad was left at home all last weekend in sleep.

When I woke it up on Monday and its was still in the 90's.

Thats with all iCloud stuff, push emails and notifications on.

Unless your going away for weeks, turning it off is completely unnecessary

Apple says a month. Thats probably with airplane mode on .

If you"re on iOS5, turn off time zone setting in location services, because it can seriously drain battery while sleep.
