Mine seem very good so far. My Bluetooth Magic Mouse, Magic TrackPad and Keyboard are more then a month old this week. All three have between 50% and 75% charge remaining from the original batteries. Admittedly, this machine gets light to moderate use.

who is still using batteries in the magic mouse since the magic charger is available , that thing is so handy just place the mouse on it whenever you dont need the mouse and it gets charged all the time , no more dead batteries or empty rechargebale ones

why it doen't come as a gift from apple when you buy a magic mouse is beyond me ... i thought Apple wants to go green ok thats a oxymoron :confused : thats the least they can do after they polute our atmosphere because Apple is using lots of aluminium in its products which is not really healthy for the production workers neither is it for our environment, and because that all doesnt cause enough damage they force people to replace batteries all the time

ok ok i admit i am guilty , i only want the fruit colored polycarbonate iMac's back

Well I have gone back to my Logitech Laser. It may not look as aesthetically pleasing as the MM but boy is it an ergonomic wonder compared to MM, so tactile, it fits the hand like a glove plus it only uses the one battery every three months or so. Had to make the scroll bar visible again, that's the only concession.

Don't know about magic mouse, but my Magic Trackpad gives me 1 month+ of use with the Kodak's rechargeable batteries (2600mAh)

I'm using Powerex Imedion 2100's in my MM and Trackpad. I get about 1 to 1.5 months or so on the MM and two to three weeks on the Trackpad (trackpad is heavily used). Imedion (Powerex/Maha) batteries are some of the best out there and same basic technology as the Sanyo Eneloops. Powerex/Maha chargers are also best in class. I use Imedion 2400's now in all my camera gear so the 2100's were re-tasked to MM, Trackpad and remote controls.

I used to replace alkaline batteries all the time in both devices and now very pleased going the rechargeable route. They're cheap and I always have extras sitting in the charger when needed. Takes 10 seconds to swap the batteries and nothing to dispose of. Cheers!

P.S. Have to agree on the ergonomics of the MM though. What a poorly designed product from a comfort perspective. I LOVE my Magic Trackpad but it stresses my wrist and fingers sometimes so I switch back and forth with the MM to avoid the repetitive strain. Lion rocks with gestures so I'm not really keen to give up either device. Cursor acceleration is also MUCH better now in the MM with Lion so the MM is actually usable again... uncomfortable shape aside.
