    Hi all,

I've searched the forum and can't find any other mention of this issue so here goes...

I recently upgraded my RAM to 2Gb on my Intel Mini. I also installed a new hard drive as the existing one had failed. I restarted and the install started fine (Disk 1 of OSX 10.4 was already in the superdrive). I formatted the new disk fine, and got to the end of Install Disk 1, when the mac restarted (as you'd expect). On restart Disk 1 was ejected from the superdrive. Now the problem. The superdrive seems to have died. My mac is asking for Disk 2, but when I try to insert it, there is absolutely no response from the superdrive. I'm guessing there's a problem with the power but that's pure speculation. I've removed the 2Gb and replaced the 512Mb that was originally there, to rule that out. I'm at my wits end - can anybody help?

    Thanks in advance.

No, it won't accept any CD or DVD. No response, as if it has no power. Perhaps that is the problem, but I have no idea where to go from here!

Wait, has the screen gone blank? Has the thing completely died on you? Try unplugging it from the power overnight and then plugging it back in tomorrow. Also, I hope you've disconnected all your third party peripherals! :D
