My Macbook Pro randomly shut off (I don't think it was low on battery, but I can't be 100% sure.) Now when I plug in the charger, the light on the charger is green for about 6 seconds, then goes to red and stays red. I cannot turn on the computer, and there is no sign that it is even charging. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

How long have you let it stay on the charger? Let it stay for a while.

My school assigned 2007 Macbook usually wont charge for a bit, but then after a while, it will start charging, but slowly.

About an hour. I had the same problem with my old 2007 Macbook Pro, but since I upgraded to a new one this year, I've never had a problem charging it. If is does die (Which of course I try to never do), I can plug it in and it turns on immediately. Usually....

Try it overnight? Could just be a bug with the charging... also, have you tried resetting the PRAM/SMC?

Try using a different socket.
If that doesn't work, try using a different charger.

I think your PSU is broken. But it could be the charger also.
