I just got a Dual 1.8Ghz Power Mac G5 off eBay recently and was told that it was the model that could only take 4gb of ram, which I felt I got it for a really good price. Getting the Power Mac G5 was another story and quite frankly a nightmare. However I recieved the Power Mac G5, and found out that it is actually the 8gb!!! So I am so very very surprised with the Power Mac.

Anyways . . . I do simple video editing and encoding with this Power Mac and it only has 512mb ram . . . just not enough. I know this Power Mac G5 can take 8 x 1gb DDR 3200 memory.

Now my question is I have seen alot of DDR 3400 (400Mhz), not DDR2 or DDR3, 2gb stick, so 1 stick of 2gb memory. Could I put 8 x 2gb memory totaling 16gb??? If I could that would just awesome. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried it.
