Power Mac11.2-G5

I'm considering in buying a Power Mac 11.2 G5, 2.5ghz, 4G Ram, 700G HDD to replace a Laptop Dell1720 1.6Ghz. Selling price is $580.00. I've been a Mac user for about a year now and never going to PC windows , currently have MacBook 2.16. Any advise would much appreciated.

I wouldn't buy it. If you want a Mac tower, you should go for an early Mac Pro over any PowerMac G5. Unless you want to be stuck on Leopard (just plain Leopard, not Snow Leopard) you need something with an Intel processor.

See, thing is, having a tower is nice for expansion. Anything you put into that tower will be obsolete once the machine becomes old (it already is).

I'd rather go with a new Mac Mini

A new mac Mini will run circles around that G5. It won't be quite as expandable, but I don't think you'd want to get into a PPC mac these days.
