After installing Snow Leopard my battery started to not calculate how much time was remaining. I called apple they tell me to reset the VRam and PRam. I did that and it fixes it for awhile but let a few days pass and it happens again. This has happened probably 4 or so times in 4 weeks. So tonight I take it in to an apple store and they genius tells me to reinstall Snow Leopard (which makes sense). When he ran the battery diagnostic it came up clean, so if i reinstall 10.6 and it doesn't work he told me that they would do more diagnositcs.

So my question is if the re-install doesn't work does anyone know what diagnostic they will run? And if so what is the end game of this? Will they replace some part of the motherboard or some other piece of hardware? The genius told me he could tell me what would happen (which I understand) but I just wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas... he also said that this is a very rare issue.

(edit) Also it is a 13in late 2008 unibody macbook if that matters
