Hi there,

This is my first post here and unfortunately I'm posting due to a problem with my Powerbook 15" 1.67GHz

My Powerbook is suddenly going into sleep mode for no reason (preferences set to never sleep).I've done everything to try to fix this issue including reinstalling my OSX.

I've read that I need to change the Power Management Unit (PMU) on this forum and I was wondering where it is on my computer?
Is it a part of the logic board or a single part that can be replaced separately?
Where could I get one?
Approximately, how much should it cost?
Would it be quick job for a technician to reinstall it?

Thank you so much,

Toki,

Before trying to replace it, have you tried resetting it? Generally it'd be the power supply that needs replacing. Obviously the cost varies depending on where you live, but iFixit might give you an idea... 🙂

Hi thank you for your help 🙂

Yes, I have done everything possible including scripts and resets. It is defiantly a hardware issue.

Please help me,

Do I need to buy a new logic board ?
