Power Nap?

Was just reading about Mountain Lion on the Apple website and one thing confuses me.

Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update.

Does this mean I need SSD (AKA new Macbook Pro retina)?

I think they said in the keynote that it only works on the Macbook Air and Retina Macbook Pro.

I was planning on getting the updated Macbook Pro, but can't justify paying so much for the Retina display.

So maybe you should contact Apple and ask them if you upgrade to a SSD later if this feature will be unlocked.

Then when they respond you can determine if this feature is "needed" or just "nice to have."

What if we ripped out the platter-disk based drive and replaced it with a SSD? Surely there is a way to enable this feature through Terminal?

Something along the lines of this:
