power off at 16%?

My macbook pro retina just powered down at 16% battery level while I was using it. Can this be normal if I'm running intensive programs like video conversion?

Shouldn't happen. You should always get a 10 minute warning or something like that. Battery might be bad.

It depends on how old it is. I have a Macbook with a very old battery which turns off well before 16% left.
