LOLOL Wait, no, you caught me. Because I am going to gain so much from lying about a ****** company. Man, damn.

Since when does the dollar symbol go after the amount? Is this something new?

Location dependent, or if I'm typing fast, I accidentally put it afterwards, because you say "one hundred dollars so it goes there. For more info:

Dollar signs in the U.S. are normally written before an amount, and the cents sign after an amount. In some parts of the world (for ex. Québec) the dollar sign is written afterwards, however.

U.S. standard practice is to use a $ sign mostly for amounts of at least one dollar, and ¢ signs for lesser amounts. However there are many common mistakes that cause much confusion.

Most importantly, amounts with a cents sign should NEVER be written with a decimal point UNLESS the total amount is less than a whole cent. You can often see what's called "grocery store arithmetic" where someone without a lot of training has written a price as "0.59¢". That's not 59 cents - it means 59/100 of a penny! The amount should be written as either:

59¢ (no decimal point) or
$0.59 (the decimal point indicates fractions of a dollar)

Sometimes you also see prices written with both $ and ¢ signs; for ex. "$3.15¢" But like the grocery store arithmetic example, the dollar sign and decimal point mean the the "15" represents fractions of a dollar - i.e. 15 cents, so the extra cents sign is meaningless and shouldn't be written.

Yeah, whatever you say.:D
Im sure everyone will believe anything you post.
The Mods should also delete this thread cause obviously you're making false and " fraudulent" accusations towards that company.
Seems like you're the fraudulent and the scammer here.
Then you said you sold it to someone on ebay most likelly not telling them it has water damage thus the reason they're having problems with it too. So pulling another scam on the buyer I see.
Good night sweetheart;)

Lol dude I wish I had your wisdom..Yep yep...Thats why that company has 1 star on google reviews? and thats why there are thousands of people complaining about the same issue? Dude get your facts straight. I did not ask for your input, or to even look at this thread. Yes I will be taking them to court, I just wanted to warn everyone. No need to be rude and disrespectful..you started this, and I'm ending it. Goodbye.

OP, I have a question, when you stated you have proof of the phone's condition before you sent it, what type of proof do you have?

Actually it's a legit question. I've seen it done several times on the forum, just can't figure out why. Since you constantly did it I figured I'd ask.

As for taking them to court, it would boil down to your word vs theirs. Very difficult if not impossible to prove either way. It's also up to you to prove your claim, remember they're innocent till proven guilty.

Have fun on Judge Judy.

Thanks for the tip. I've used gazelle for my iPhone 3G that didn't work at all and got 50 for it at the iPhone 4S launch and was pretty happy with them

Now what I have I told you about making sense and using logic? Eh? See, this is what happens when *******s like us start talking in public. Nothing good comes from any of it! ;)

P.S. Seems a few posts have been deleted in this thread.

It's probably better to do an in store trade/upgrade. Most electronic stores do it. Target gives a decent amount for their trade ins.

OP:

Taking them to court will accomplish nothing. It'll be money out of your pocket that will exceed the total cost of the phone, so it won't be worth it. Plus, you'll have to provide definitive proof as to the phone's condition prior to you sending it in. My guess is that you don't have this (even though you say you do). Try selling the phone privately and take what you can get for it. Chalk the experience up as a lesson learned.

Pictures. I also have a friend who works for Apple and he opened up the phone to look at it and he told me there was no water damage, issues, etc. I did this before I sent it to power on because I did not want to send them a phone that may have damage that I didn't know about.

Here's what I got out of it.
She's a liar and a bad liar I might add:D
She damaged it herself and got it wet. Then tryed to pull a fast one on this company "power on recycling".
She said she did the water damage after but that's a lie cause when they checked it they said it had water damage already.
They caught on to her and didnt want to pay what they quoted her for a wet device and send it back to her. Now she's upset at them and wants to talk junk.
Then she put it on ebay to scam another unsuspected buyer not telling them its messed up and now the ebay buyer tells her he's having problems with it too.
Hope he does a chargeback with Paypal and she dont scam anyone in the end.
Karma is a B....

no. i just know the facts. Look at the date I posted that thread. I contacted power on back in July. Like I had said, before I sent the phone to power on, I had it inspected by an Apple employee and he told me there was no water damage or any damage whatsoever. I also looked into the dock connector for the liquid damage indicator and it was silver. If it had water damage it would have been red or pink. But whatever guys, believe what you want. ;):D

They have the phone in working order now. I told them to restore it and now they have it activated. They in fact know the condition of the phone, so quit with your ********.

Again, like I have stated, I have pictures and documentation(certificate if you will) of the condition of the phone before I sent it off. ;)

Try contacting apple customer service by phone. Let them know you are not happy with the company, if the front line rep doesn't take care of you ask for a supervisor and keep going up until someone is willing to investigate/help you. Apple is very good about taking care of their customers, as many of us know. They may not give you money but they should at least investigate complaints about companies they are referring customers to.

Trying to sue them over 100$ is not the right way to go. Just complain to apple, be nice but firm and tell them your trust in apple has been compromised because they promote a company that rips people off and you'll never buy another apple product if they don't take care of it. Don't take no for an answer, but with apple it's usually not too much trouble.

BTW, why do so may people here just assume the OP is lying? Give him the benefit of the doubt. Be helpful, or just GTFO... please. If he/she is lying then so what. If the problem is real then you're just being an unhelpful ass.

Don't worry about arguing with the idiots, they aren't helpful so just ignore them.

Oh my gosh thank you so much. Yes I have been meaning to call them but heard from others that it would be pointless. But seriously, thank you.

Why assume they're lying? Simple. They started an ad a few weeks ago telling us they caused water damage on their 3GS and their story has repeatedly changed since then.

It makes MUCH more sense that they caused and knew about the water damage that they caused, denied it was there when they sent in the phone, and are trying to push the blame onto Power On Recycling over they having the problems back in July and suddenly felt the need to complain about it now, 6 months later.

Wasn't complaining. Was simply trying to warn others. Jeeze, I hope you try this company out, and they screw you over as they did me.

I just got a brand new iPhone 4s and I'm really paranoid about water damage. My 3GS got water damage from me putting it on the shelf in the bathroom while I was showering. I don't do this now, nor will I ever again but there's other ways to get condensation on the phone than just that.

Jan 2nd
I feel as though this needs to be brought to attention. My 3GS supposedly had water damage and I never knew about it until I sent it off to Power On Recycling Services and they gave me a quote of 125$ for it, I sent it to them, and I get an email with a new quote of 25$! They claimed it had water damage, scuffed housing, and the headjack port was messed up.

...and we're to believe it was just some wild coincidence that they said your phone had water damage when it didn't, they returned it to you, THEN it became water damaged, and, out of the blue, 6 months later you decide to warn everyone about it.

Right.

lol why is any of this any of YOUR business? THEY DID THE DAMAGE. THEY ALSO DID DAMAGE TO THE BACK OF THE PHONE.

Sounds like the same phone to me.

Took me a minute to figure out what phone you were talking about. The one in the thread from a few weeks ago is the all pink 3GS I had, which I know for a fact I caused damage to. The one that I had sent to power on was a pink and white 3GS. Why the hell would I send someone a damaged phone? Unless they knew full well what they were buying from me, I would NOT sell someone a damaged phone. But thank you though, your BS is entertaining me tonight.

lol. Well, they are affiliated with Apple. Do you really think people would suspect this from a company that is contracted with Apple? I sure didn't. And for the record, I did do a little research on this "company" and couldn't find anything like this until yesterday. Just glad I am not the only one.
So you looked them up yet found nothing until you found out they screwed you.... don't you think that would be hard for normal thinking people to believe? Why are you "happy" to know you're not the only one they ripped off? So you're happy when others get ripped off OR you're happy you're not the only one that didn't fully investigate someone that basically stole your iPhone?

Sorry you got hosed but use it as a learning situation.

You are such a liar and a scam artist. And ur so bad that u can't even cover your own lies in this thread. In an earlier post u say their was only one phone, and that u did damage it but until after u got it back. Now u r saying there were 2 phones. You're a liar and a a scumbag. Just go away already. Please!
