Power Saving with USB Drive

    1st Time Posting so if this has been asked before I apologize.

    I have a 2013 Macbook Pro 128K SSD 8Gb Ram and I have added a 32K mini USB Scandisk that I leave plugged into the one of the USB Ports.

    Reading a post elsewhere:

    Yes, she sure can. Just have her eject it (64Gb SD card) and remove it before she puts the Air to bed for the night on battery power. Having an SD card in keeps the Air from going into its battery conserving deep sleep mode.

    Is this the same for a USB drive, its better to remove to save the battery in Sleep Mode?

    I've never heard of that before.. :confused: Even my iMac will go into sleep with a bunch of hard drives connected..
