I'm migrating from a Hackintosh to a 2009 Mac Pro.

I have diligently searched here and cannot find and answer to my question, so please do not flame me. If it has been answered many times I'm afraid I cannot find the answer.

The GTX660 card I want to install in my Mac Pro 2009 (2 x 2.26, Mac Pro 4,1, 8-core, 10.8.4) requires a six pin power supply.

I have diligently searched on the backboard/motherboard in my Mac Pro, even removing the processors, processor cage and the case fan, and cannot find any available source for a cable to the 6 pin socket on the GTX660 card.

Can someone point me to the specific location of the power source from which I can run such a cable? If I need to use a splitter with an existing connector, could you please indicate specifically which connector I should reroute via the splitter?

Videos of the 2008 I have watched show the source to be under the case fan, but the 2009 has no such source in that location. I even removed the case fan to check.

    Thank you in advance.

There are 2 6 pin headers on the motherboard. You don't have to remove anything to see them - they are low and behind (to the left) of the bottom pci slot. You need to order the correct cables online somewhere (perhaps someone can help with that). My gtx680 came with the right cables so I didn't have to source them.

Thank you - I found them.

What was fooling me is that I was looking for vertical pins whereas the two connectors are horizontal sockets.

I attach a high definition picture which may help others.

Those are mini PCIe power cables. Just search for ebay for PCIe G5 power cable. They are the same for the PCIe G5 and Mac Pros.
