Hi,
So my friend has given me a broken Macbook air A1466 to look at, his story was a bit odd.
At first he said it was water damage, then it changed to the headphone socket stopped working then it turned off and hasnt turned back on since and no light on the magsafe connector.
I've taken it apart and there was some residue on the power board so I've cleaned that with alcohol and it looks fine now, I let it dry and connected the power supply again, but no light and it didnt turn on.
So then I got my multimeter out, maybe should have done this first, and tested the outer pin and the second outer pin and only got 0.5V and again n light on the magsafe connector, is this normal?
I dont have another psu to try it with.
Just received some more info.
It was running on battery and he got a message about the sound was going through the headphones but none were connected so he went into system preferences to have a look then the screen went black and hasnt turned on since, so it looks like it isnt a PSU problem at all
Any ideas?
Thanks
