I really think you should re-consider making statements about hard cases not protecting the iPhone when dropped. Thats just a bunch of baloney.
You might have misunderstood what I meant. Some people have been saying that when their phones hit the ground, the phones kinda popped out of the cases on the first bounce. Then on the 2nd or even the 3rd bounce, the phones would've damaged in some ways. I didn't mean that hard cases don't protect the phones, but they just have their limitation as well.
Check this one out.... This place is right next to the Apple store in the Glendale Galleria.. I paid $35 for front and back... Came out excellent!!!

Not much of protection I think. Maybe just preventing some streak when you sweat while holding the phone.

so from the pics it looks like the black one has a soft rubber compound similar to the contour hardskin, right guys
Got the case today
Ok, so I got my Air Jacket today, and I must say that I'm a little disappointed. The plastic cover does not look in high quality, more like some cheap plastic. Also there's a black stain on the plastic itself which I was not able to clean it out. The US website does not have any installation instruction and the package does not come with instruction either. I had to check the Japanese website for God sake...
By the way, the clear one + white 3G does not look as good as those pictures on the japanese website.

Take a pic in the mirror.
And if you have 2 mirrors, you can take a picture of the front.
Actually, I got mine today at the apple store and it is made out of soft-touch plastic. A good choice in my opinion and it seems high quality made since this is a japanese product and it protects the iphone at a thin profile. There are no instructions needed guys. Snap it on and go.

really? i have the clear one for my white 3G and i think it looks pretty good. at least as naked as can be put still in a case. i do agree, though, that the plastic looks like it could have been a little higher grade. overall, though, i'm extremely happy with it. out of the 3 cases i own, this is the only one that i've kept using.
still trying to get the ballz to go naked though...
Finally upgraded to the 3G iPhone and very interested int he Air Jacket in black. However, I've read that the coating on the black Air Jacket is on top of the plastic and tends to rub off after a month or so of use; leaving the clear plastic exposed. I don't mind the clear, but the black looks slick and sick! So... anyone have any tidbits before I pull out the wallet?
