so pouring thru the reviews of all the screen protectors i kinda like how the PS films sound...

just dont see much comments on the scratch resistance of PS filsm. Anyone mind to comment? compare to wrapsol or IS?

Bump this.

I don't think I could handle the slightly distorted display that these films give. I never minded it much on the 3GS but on the 4, they will change the quality of the screen.

Oh... meh.. I wonder if a company will ever be able to make a matte screen that doesnt give the grain/snow effect.

Not likely. The ability for the screen protector to hide finger prints and glare is based on the fact that it has a fine texture to it. When the screen or protector is smooth, with a mirror like finish, it reflects light directly back at you, making finger prints and glare more obvious. The tecture on the matte protector scatters the light in different directions so it doesn't end up back in your eyes. Unfortunately, it also does the same thing with the light coming from the screen. There really isn't any other way to achieve this right now, other than the oleophobic coatings Apple uses already for finger print resistance, or some kind of polarized cover to reduce glare.

So much for this amazing glass screen.

I noticed a big scratch this morning and it is annoying the crap outta me.

I had the anti glare on the 3G but didnt like the grainy look it gave but enjoyed the no finger print aspect.

This time I might go with the crystal film but hope it provides some scratch protectant as its obvious the screen scratches!

So ticked

Sorry if this was previously asked, but for the power support what is the difference between the anti glare and crystal film again?

I think I had the anti glare on the 3g and didnt care to much for it as it distorted the screen but it did offer amazing finger print protection.

I am thinking I want to go with the crystal film as I dont want it to deteriorate the amazing screen.

Any opinions?

Nobody will know for sure until they actually come out but I would assume it would be just like the shields for the 3g and 3gs. Anti-Glare doesn't show fingerprints but there is a reduction in clarity. Crystal shows fingerprints but looks amazing. It's a shame you can't have it both ways but I just don't think it's possible. Best choice is probably the SGP Oleophobic.

I had an anti-glare film on my 3gs and I suppose it was good as a screen protector, didn't diminish responsiveness of the touchscreen, but it was just too thick and visible for my liking. And it still had a lot of smudges and that awful rainbow effect.
Having read lots of excellent reviews, for my iPhone 4 I pre-ordered the crystal film.:)

Despite the overwhelming support of the crystal film, I went with the anti glare for my iPhone 4; the film came in just now and I figured I'd bump this thread.
The film went on easily without bubbles and the first thing I noticed was how comfortable the screen now felt.. There are NO fingerprints on this thing! The bad news? This thing is grainy.. It definitely knocks down my iPhone's res -- a bit.
I'll give it a few more days and see how I feel.

^^ cool thanks for the reply...can you post a picture with the anti-glare HD on your ip4? Im definately thinking of the anti-glare rather than the crystal one.

Got my power support anti glare today. I really love the feel of it, but it is slightly grainy as the previous poster stated. It's almost like millions of tiny rainbowish dots (hard to explain but I'm sure if you've used an anti-glare protector before you'd know what I mean), so it does affect image quality slightly.

Such a bummer to hear this. I was really hoping they made some kind of breakthrough with the AG and that it was going to be much more clear than the old version. Doesn't sound like they improved it at all.

Personally i would go with a BSE; basically the same thing, except only $7.99.
