I've just expanded my Homekit device list to include some Aqara cameras - super, and I love Homekit Secure Video. I would like to add other devices to Homekit too, but where is the support for solar energy and weather station devices?... there's more to it than lux, temperature & humidity readings: what about my rainfall, wind speed and electricity production/consumption?? I like the sound of the soon-to-be-released HomeOS and HomePod/Homepad, but shouldn't Apple be getting basic home parameters on board as a priority first? I'm frustrated: there are work-arounds by using Homebridge or Home Assistant but then, for example, rainfall quantity cannot be expressed in inches or mm but values can be fiddled to display as percent brightness or humidity. Well done to those who have found these solutions, but this is crazy, isn't it? When are Apple going to allow other units to be used such as mm, kph, kW etc?

I've got more to say (sorry): for me, a home control system such as Homekit should be able to do more than just control things: display is also important, which is why I'm looking forward to HomeOS and the possibility of a wall-mounted screen. But how can I display my daily rainfall or power consumption? I also want to display temperatures that can be read from a distance... so I don't like the sound of one of the new HomeOS features that only gives you more data as you approach: that means all the data values will be tiny, for sure, and not visible from a distance.
I'm surprised that the Avery Home app hasn't had more takers - it's great, as any Homekit device or value can be displayed at any size... I attach the screen I use from an old always-on iPad which gives me both visual information from a distance as well as control buttons.
