Earlier this week, Apple announced and began accepting orders for the Powerbeats Pro 2. Today, the high-performance wireless earbuds began arriving to customers and became available to purchase in person at Apple's retail stores.

Powerbeats Pro 2 feature the same H2 chip from the AirPods Pro 2, enabling Active Noise Cancellation, which is a feature the original Powerbeats Pro lack. Another key feature is heart rate monitoring, with each earbud featuring LED optical sensors that can pulse at over 100 times per second to measure heart rate via blood flow. This feature works with supported fitness apps like the Peloton app and Nike Run Club.

For complete details about the Powerbeats Pro 2, read our coverage of the announcement and watch our hands-on video below.

‌Powerbeats Pro‌ 2 are available to order on Apple's online store
, in Electric Orange, Hyper Purple, Jet Black, and Quick Sand color options. In the U.S., pricing is set at $249, which is equal to the price of the AirPods Pro 2 and original Powerbeats Pro.

I have had mine for a day now, easily the worst ear buds I have tried in years.
I think the main problem for me is how badly they fit my ears, only the XS tips are comfortable, but I can only get a moderate seal using L tips and they are very uncomfortable.
The sound quality is very weak, flat and unenthusing, the ANC is also weak(maybe because of the fit).
The case is pretty chonky, you need to put it on a surface to operate it, not the simple one handed operation of the apple air pods.

However, I am not a good example, I am still using Gen2's as they the only things that fit very comfortably, but I have tried every version of apple airpods.
When the first pro's came out the sound quality brought tears to my eyes with how amazing they were, the ANC was also top notch, but they also would fall out doing anything other than slow walking, so had to pass them on.

I was really thinking these could have been the answer, APP2's with a clip so they would not fall out, but alas they are garbage(for me), returning ASAP.

reviews mentioning weaker ANC compared to the AirPods Pro 2 despite the H2 chip. Thanks Tim! classism prevails, Beats always remain inferior to AirPods right?!
Yeah, ANC on beats are pretty bad... but hey, on beats you have 8-10h of battery live in one charge. I think they won't add the heart rate sensor on any Airpods due to its weak battery life.

Yup! I have the exact same experience as you. I own the originals and loved them. Got the Powerbeats Pro 2 in the mail today and just like you I tried all tips and none of them felt comfortable. The hook is also at a weird angle and starts to hurt my ear after just a minute or so of being worn. I also think the sound quality is no better than the original. The ANC is very weak and you can hardly tell its on....like you said, maybe because of the weak seal from the tips? The case while being smaller is still wide and fat and just uneasy to deal with. Overall, I completely dislike these and they are going back immediately. I'll stick with my originals for now until something else comes along that is actually worth it.

Considered getting a pair but not now with the negative reviews. The Beat Fit Pros are similar in that the ANC sucks, even with replacement ear tips with better fit. Guess that Beat ear products will not be a future option anymore. Staying with the APP so hoping APP3 will be coming out soon as rumoured.

Personal mini review: rehashed Air Pod Pro Version 1 in different colors with a hook.

For Apple watch users: the heart rate sensor is obsolete and only drives the price up. And for 250 bucks they sound very underwhelming and somewhat tinny. Don't expect APP2 sound quality. The ANC is pretty weak, too.

Don't get fooled by the "reviews" on YouTube which got their earphones early. They can't provide overly negative criticism - otherwise they will be crossed off Apple's marketing list.

Just purchased and yeah the sound is awful. The highs are trash and they definitely don’t sound like $250 ear buds. Hell I’m sure there are $50 ear buds that sound better than this. I was really looking forward to these but damn the critical reviews were spot on. Transparency which I use a lot sound less natural and more processed.

You're wrong lol. Beats is literally their "urban" brand for low-income people or android users.

You know who started Beats, right? And who the demographic was/is?
How are they low income if they 249 price is the same price as the AirPods Pro? Literally require the same income. Also it seems you are afraid to mention African American people in your comment and instead blatantly making references about them presumably to avoid sounding racist, but instead making the comment sounds 2x as racist...

Gotta agree with the sentiment here on sound quality, it just isn’t that good, especially for spoken word audio (YouTube videos, podcasts, etc.). Very shallow sound compared to APP2. Had very high hopes but I’ll likely be returning. I found them to be quite comfortable though, I really like the design and smaller size (including the smaller case). Magnetic charging of the bud in the case is also great.

Is this just Beats Fit Pro with an ear loop? I have two Beats Fit Pro and other than having to glue the rubber onto the plastic after regular use, they work great.

I still have my original powerbeats pro and they sound like absolute trash.

I agree with the others that they're comfortable. Much more so than my APP2s. As for ANC, the APP2s are better, but I wonder if that's because of the internal venting. There isn't the same feeling of pressure, which is a plus. As for sound, I had the same reaction to the others that the highs weren't there and the sound felt thin.

I started fiddling with fitment in my ear canal, trying the different size tips and using the software fit test. Having dialed in the tip size and how they fit best on my ears, I think the sound is good. I'm listening to voice audio on Twitch, and listening to YouTube Music. I keep swapping back and forth between the PP2s and the APP2s, and the sound is pretty close. The APP2s still have the slight edge, but they aren't good for me if I'm moving around at all (walking, talking, exercising) or wearing them for extended amounts of time (flights).

I'm going to keep giving the Powerbeats Pro 2s a fair shake during the return period.

This makes it sound like the H2 chip is needed for ANC, but it's not since Apple first incorporated ANC into their other ear buds and the Airpods Max using their H1 chip. But the H2 chip has significantly better ANC, as long as all other factors are equal (good ear tip fit, etc.).

Nope. Fit pro fit into your ear perfectly. As for these I just got them so I didn’t try any tips yet. Listened to a podcast and not impressed so far. Also own APP but not great for running.
