They are really pretty. I could't commit to them, but I do enjoy looking at them.

They remind me of this fashion show from Prada in 2015. The designer used these sickly sweet pastels on purpose. She called it sweet, but violent. Pastels in an ironic form. Surely someone on the Beats team must have seen this. That would be awesome if they referenced fashion in their color choices. It's been over 5 years, but it's still impactful based on the reactions here.

For all the criticism people have towards the colors, there is no way Beats didn’t use a focus group to land on these colors. They are definitely more fashion forward than the original palette, so I can see the appeal Beats is aiming for. However in this limping economy, I am not sure these will sell very well at this price point.

My 1st gen airpods are on the way out with a battery life of about 45 minutes or less. I have Powerbeats 2 that have gotten a bit crappy over the years but are still soldiering on... though getting rid of the last of my micro USB devices wouldn't be a bad thing! So I'd earmarked Powerbeats to pick up when one or the other fails.

PBP are going on offer tomorrow here in China (direct from beats' tmall and JD stores) for the equivalent of a little over $140 (999 RMB). At that price, I'm struggling to say no.
That’s a good price.
They fit very well, and the sound is great, but the 'charging issue' is making them unusable. And this is the second pair I've had. The case could have been wider and thinner. Either way, the loops need clearance in the top somehow.
I’ve thought about the case design and how I would improve it but I’m not sure I could. The earbuds are pretty chunky and are going to need a larger case, no matter what. Wider and thinner would be better, though. My best idea would be to nest the ear hooks, with them laying flat, to minimize the footprint, but I’m not sure if that would be feasible with the charging contacts in their current location.

What do they need to improve? I’m thinking of getting the red ones eventually. Lord help me but I’m actually working out again.

Sorry for late response, but my biggest gripe with it is it doesnt sit next to the ear canal opening that well. So when Im lifting hard, it loosens up and I have to press it back against the opening again. A lot of sound and bass loss as it loosen up. The earhooks are a selling point but without a fit that's constantly loosened upon aggressive activity, it becomes an annoyance. I'd rather it be a little bit "in-ear" so that it stays put.

Second biggest gripe is ear fatigue after maybe an hour? I even switched to comply foam tips but it did not eliminate the problem. I saw only two youtube videos that actually mentioned this after I started to get it. People trash on in-ear earphones but being in the ear but my jaybird X3 had little to no ear fatigue with comply tips.

Overall, I just hated how a lot of tech reviewers glorified it's sound quality, but I dont think they really put it to practical use to understand its drawbacks.

Yeah - it's pretty bad.

I'd call this color palette "baby clothing"
Yea I don't understand the obsession with these pastel colors. I wish places would have more bright colors like the 5c and XR had but on flagships. Was excited for Midnight Green until it mostly looked Gray. Hardly even looked green to me. I want that nice bright Cosmic Blue they rumored for 11 Pro Max.

I think the red ones are nice. Though I probably still would’ve bought the green ones I have.
Yea I would definitely take red out of those. At least reds are almost always bright and not pastel. Just wish they could ever make a nice bright blue. Yellow is the only other color that is usually bright too, but I don't really like yellow much.
