Oh I'm very active ... began bodybuilding again after 4yrs ago ... I go 5 days a week on a 3 workout split ... sometimes twice a day.

I love it. Glad to hear of people actually mentioning activities they’ll benefit from rather than the look.[/QUOTE]

Agreed.

Moreover, the ability to consolidate quality stereo headphones for music, calls and hopefully (if Duolingo + Smule get their act together) other apps ... that 9hrs during a workout and public transit commute and use on macOS / AppleTV would go a long way daily!

This is where my Jabra Sport Pulses will fail, the B&O E8s have failed me and the years and years when I owned a SonyEricsson feature phone (long before iPhone) had hinted or promised at.

The Warranty and expected build quality and software updates (I haven’t noticed any for AirPods yet) is the clincher. Samsung almost had my money 7wks ago with their GalaxyBuds (an ideal design, which I expect AirPods 3 to evolve to) yet failed to create an iOS app. Their the ONLY other true wireless stereo headphones that are NOT slave/master chipped.

beats it is for me, and they do come in Black!
[doublepost=1556592961][/doublepost]Oh wait I also forgot Beats tends to partner with NBA/NFL and celebrities so maybe I may get PowerBeats Pro with Jamaican flag print, now that would be Irie!

The one thing to note though is that every Bluetooth headphone is pretty much disposable.

I run/bike for one hour every day and do about 30 minutes of body weight exercises. Thats all I use my airpods for. When the weather is cold the batteries die in about 45-60 minutes, bit better when its warmer. The Airpods are just over a year old.

I wonder if even half the people on here are active enough to even justify the intent of these earphones?

Think about it like Gatorade. I don't have to be playing or sport or working out to enjoy a Gatorade..Maybe i am a thirsty dude or does that lightning bolt mean no?..

Point being these could fit into my life better the other options on the market. Airpods don't fit me well. I need something that works with ios and works with it well. Just because a product is aimed at LDS gym rats doesn't mean it's only people that can get use out of them.

Agreed. Found cold temperature affects Beats Studio 3s as well; even brand new. With any battery powered product.

Set a reminder to get a pre-order in on Friday morning. I have the current PowerBeats. I really like them, but hate that wire. I work from home a couple days a week and should be able to use just one of the Pros for conference calls. I've tried to use the wired ones for calls, but the mic rubs on my neck and makes noise. Wireless will be nice at the gym too.

I always find this point curious because I personally usually had the opposite experience: most wired headphones I've owned in my life broke at some point and became waste, and most of the time it was the wire that broke. This goes both for Apple's own wired earbuds, aswell as some wired headphones from other companies. The wire itself is undeniably one of the, if not the most failure-prone part of most wired headphones, and on completely wireless earphones, that point of failure is completely eliminated.

There are a few type of headphones where the wire is detachable, but when it's firmly connected to the headphone itself, then you can basically throw the headphones away when the cable has any issue. Which really means that a lot of wired headphones are disposable products aswell.

Admittedly, I never was very gentle with my earbuds, usually tucking them into my pocket or squeezing them somewhere in my backpack, which probably put a lot of stress on the cables. But now I do the exact same thing with my AirPods and they have yet to suffer from any issue through that after 2.5 years, whereas I don't think any of my old earbuds survived longer than maybe a year without any damage to the cable, so we should hold wired and wireless headphones to the same standards in this regard when we're talking about how disposable they are. There are no cables on for example the AirPods that are destined to break after a couple months of stress, squeezing and tangling, which is a big plus for longevity.

Nevertheless, I agree that battery degradation is still a big problem for wireless headphones, one that I hope we'll be able to solve or at least minimize at some point. The AirPods are one of the worst contenders in this regard because their small batteries are especially prone to suffer from the effects of degradation, but on a lot of other wireless headphones with bigger batteries, the effect of the degradation is a lot less drastic, and not a very noticeable issue for many people. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if these Powerbeats Pro hold up a lot better battery-wise than the AirPods after a few years; it might be an interesting long-term advantage.

B&H Photo has them available for preorder. They don’t mention when they ship. I called them and they don’t know the exact date they will ship. I’m on the fence about saving 20$ on tax or getting them next Friday for sure. I wonder if you order from Apple you get them the exact day of release like iPhones. What would you all do?

If this was true then why is there no mention of preorders on Beats’ site nor Apple?

I think this news is fake given that pre-order is still not open by now.

I'm finding the pricing in the UK interesting. For quite some time Apple has been setting the prices for its products in the UK at GBP on a 1:1 ratio to USD. So, for example, AirPods v2 with the wireless charging case cost £199.00 here. The Powerbeats Pro are priced at £219.95. Granted the order window has not opened and the price could very well change when pre-ordering goes live. I'm not saying they are underpriced, but it is less than I had been expecting...

So it's 3pm in the UK? As no article has offered a UK release time I'm converting from PT. Assuming this is not right......so 9am?

Yeah. The original v1 AirPods appeared about 1400 UK time (or possibly a little earlier, I got them in the first wave ordering at 1406), not that that necessarily means anything.

I'm in California and find it odd that there hasn't been any mention of a pre order beforehand. I don't recall Apple(nor Beats) operating like that. You'd think they want as many potential customers to know so they could preorder. I call bogus on this one.
