Send me a pair to test. I've gone through six pairs of Jaybird X3/X4s in 2.5 years. One pair ran a 10K in a light mist, otherwise no water contact besides sweat. If they can survive me, they should be good to go.

Those went inside someone's ears. After being dropped in a toilet. Intentionally, even! What are we even doing here

Why put them in a toilet when a bowl of water would do?

Because they wanted to say, that it will work but will smell like a poo for years

Revenge? The whole team wee weed there and then let the unpopular member of the team to test them

Should run them through a laundry washing machine cycle and see if they still work. Destroyed a pair of Jaybird’s because I forgot to take them out of my pocket.

All of Apple’s claims of water resistance are false advertising.

My iPhone X went submerged for a couple of seconds in 20 cm of water; it was sold to me with the claim of being fine with 30 minutes under 1.5 m of water.

It instantly broke, water was literally everywhere from camera to CPU, and I had to pay €650 even if I was under warranty. Bad, disappointing experience overall.

You'd probably dropped it or invalidated the seal in some other way, this is not normal - I know lots of people that go swimming with theirs and take underwater photos with them.

Exactly. And beyond that, why not do the toilet test last? They claim it was the third of six different tests! I'd have made the toilet test #6 and tossed them after that rather than continue to test them.

Exactly, they should have taken a massive dump, then put the headphones in, then wear them for the next 6 tests ;)

lol

Is it a crime that they fell in the toilet or that Vampire Weekend was played through them?

Resting still in water is different from being agitated under water because air bubbles can be held in the orifices by interfacial tension. You need to actually swim a few lap to test or place in a hot tub with jets engaged.
