Hello everyone,

I might need to run PowerBi in parallels at some point for college and I’m wondering if 24GB on a MacBook Pro M5 will be enough or if I should bump the ram to 32GB.

Wondering if anyone else has used Powerbi on Mac on parallels and what your experiences are in terms of RAM.

Depends how large your data models are and how complex your visuals and calculations are.

I use Power BI extensively on my Windows work laptop with 32 GB of RAM and it can be laggy at times (but I also have a lot of other things running). I do find that the lagginess is more processor-bound than RAM limited.

Consider that you'll need RAM for both the base macOS system and Windows, and for Power BI. I would strongly consider upgrading to 32.
