The only caveat I would add to this is that in some situations, you will save by going to a larger RAM chip than is standard. For instance, it makes sense to go from the standard 256 MB on the 12" PB to 640 MB for $120. You won't get a 512 MB chip for much less than that anyway, and you won't have to install it yourself, and the price of the computer includes a 128 MB chip that essentially becomes useless to you unless you can sell it off, and even then you won't get alot for it. Definitely get as much stuff as you can, and don't waste extra $$ on memory upgrades as you can do that later.
