Powerbook 140 not booting making strange noise out of speaker

My Powerbook 140 from 1991 makes strange noise out of the speaker after the startup sound appeared. The LCD screen lights up but only moving horizontal lines appear. The Computer is not booting. I am using a universal powersupply set to 7.5V sine the original Apple PS is also not working anymore. I also removed the battery from the Powerbook.

What might be the reason for not booting up ?
