I have an older PowerBook G4 (I believe the Aluminum version) and it's hooked up to an Acer 20.1 inch monitor with a max display res of 1650x1080. I can't seem to get the monitor working at full resolution as a "primary" monitor (basically mirrored, but trying to get the displays different on each screen). I can get the alternate monitor at 1600x1200 resolution, but then it scales down to 15.4". Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Edit: So i figured out if you have a keyboard attached it disables the laptop display, however it's still stretched at 1600x1200 when I want to have 1680x1050. anyone know if it's possible to over-ride the display options?

I think that if you are mirroring displays it is at the resolution of the lowest resolution display, but I'm not on a Mac right now to try it out.

For anyone wondering, I found a tool called SwitchResX that did the job. Had to tinker with it a bit, but it's looking sweet.
