Hello all,

I have succeeded in installing my G4 Titanium Powerbook screen myself. A friend gave me there screen from a dead G4 Powerbook which has a DVI jack on the back but mine is the version just before the DVI jack.

Here's my question....the screen works, but about 7/8 of the way down the image starts to repeat itself. It doesn't fill the whole screen, and on the right is a grey bar.

The whole screen works during bootup, but when it switches to the desktop it has a 1 inch dark grey bar on the right and repeats the desktop for about 1/2 inch on the bottom.

Apparently it may be a compatability issue between the screen I had which was dead and the new screen which came frm a slightly different version of the 15 inch Titanium Powerbook. Is there anyway to fix this with an adapter or a sdoftware solution.

Please help...this took me forever to install!

i would try the 'detect displays' option under the 'displays' tab in system preferences. it sounds like your hardware is only recognizing the monitor as being a certain resolution, effectively lower than the actual resolution of the display you installed. if you can't fix it through system preferences, i would imagine there's some way to either reset or reconfigure the default display resolution through the terminal. best of luck. :)
