Powerbook 12 Rev A 867/256/10.3.2/combo

When I put a DVD in, sometimes, it won't show up. I have DVD player set to open with a video DVD, but regardless of this setting, the disc spins, but doesn't come up on screen and "eject" isnt an option in DVD player. The eject key on the keyboard ejects the disc fine every time. This seems to happen irregularly, but fairly often. Usually ejecting and reinserting the disc works, but not right now. Help?
