Powerbook G4 12" 1.5GHz replacement DVD

I have a powerbook G4 12" 1.5GHz with a faulty UJ-845E DVD Drive.

Can anyone recommend a replacement DVD drive, perhaps a make other than Matshita/panasonic UJ-845E (if still available) maybe Sony, NEC ??

I understand I need an IDE interface, slot loading BUT not sure what constitutes 'compatible with the powerbook G4 !!!

I would just buy the replacement part that fits the mac. If you google mac parts you should be able to find it.

Yes, done that of course. Not as straight forward as you might think.
