If shunted by the 128 gb limit why would anyone put a 250 gb hdd into it?
So you're saying the PB can take a 250 gb drive, which would mean that all 250 gbs (or the formatted size) would be useable?

And thanks for answering. Apparently need I need a new thread and a dumb title to get a question answered. :)

You can use it all, it will take up to 320GB which appears to be the largest ATA/100 drive.

Thanks but like I said, about a year ago Mac Sales responded to an inquiry from me saying the PB rev d wouldn't take over a 100 gb hdd.

That rev PowerBook will take all ATA 2.5 drives

320 can be used no problem, single partition if you desire as well... no 100 or 128 limits.

First, ignore this moron. Everyone knows 1 GB is more than enough memory for a single core PowerPC notebook. Memory isn't the issue.

I think it might be more than your HDD being full/fragmented, there's a pretty good chance that it's dying; as mentioned, replace it.

Get a nice new hard drive (obviously you'll need to get an ATA instead of an SATA HDD), and you'll probably notice a world of difference.

The fact that it's slower than before could have to do with the fact that you just reinstalled and Spotlight might be running. Have you checked that? Spotlight can tie up even the fastest machine, irrespective of CPU and memory.

Bottom line, NEW HDD. I don't think a faulty frame buffer would affect you like this.

Good luck. (Also, as suggested, do an NVRAM reset... and try a CUDA reset as well.)
That's totally not appropriate. I didn't even make that outrageous of a claim, but you definitely disrespected me, and the entire Apple community on that one. I noticed a giant speed increase from 1 gb to 2 gb ram, which is why I'm sharing my opinion. I don't care if you just know that much about the subject, or you are just ignorant to the facts that are in the field that I am an expert on, but come on. Don't attempt to deny the fact that I know more about this than you do. Just come straight and say you don't know what you're talking about, and we'll be cool. Seriously? This is ridiculous, you shouldn't get so riled up about such trivial things, but if you do, you're pathetic. Go home and make love to your real doll. You don't know anything about what we're talking about and you need to leave this thread right now.

Yeah they lied. Despite uberamd's claim that I am a liar (why I would lie is beyond me) I have proof. ;)

Excuse me? Wth? When did I ever call you a liar? You said you talked to the MacSales people and I said I highly doubt there is a limit like they said. You said they said there was a limit, I said I highly doubt that is the case (as in I highly doubt there is a limit based on my google findings and what their own site says). I never once called you a liar. But nice try Jessica.
