Hey macrumors, i have and old powerbook g4 from 2003, 17 inch model, and it is compatible with Mac OS X Tiger 10.4, But when i start it with the cd for tiger, (old cd with tiger that i kept) first i choose language, and it says preparing installation, then it says This software can not be installed on this computer, it does say iMac G5 on the cd, but i don't remember needing different cds for each computer? Help?

If it's for the imac, then it's a big nope. So no, not gonna work. That's one for just the imac, it's a restore CD. You need a retail copy. And, if you didn't want the PowerBook, I'd take it off your hands...

Actually, I care. :D

You say 2003 model. So, it's got to be the A1013, which is the 1Ghz 17" Apple made in 2003.

My A1013 just had it's logicboard die on me about two weeks ago. I envy you that yours is working! :)
