PowerBook G4 Superdrive MATSHITADVD-R UJ-845E Firmware upgradable to DL?

Hello,

I read that the E in SuperDrive MATSHITADVD-R UJ-845E indicates it has not DL-abilities, but the UJ-845 has, so I asked myself, if one could get the 845E act like the one "without" the "E".

Any ideas?

Thanks Skinnie! That was a good find. But currently I have no access to a Windows/DOS-Machine, but I will keep it in mind for somewhen later.

I found this http://www.patchburn.de/index.html but it does not seem to enable "functions", just otherwise unsupported Drives.
