Hi There I have a 1.67 G G4 powerbook with a A1127 airport card in it, running Leopard OS. I have a new router running WPA TKIP security. I can't connect to it. Says unable to connect - no bars on the airport icon. Lots of other machines connecting - all newer models. Is this possible with this set up? Able to connect to the router via cable no problem.

Is your router setup to only broadcast 802.11g and/or n? That would be the first thing I would check. I believe the standard Airport cards in the G3/G4 era only work on 802.11a or b.

Also, some versions of Mac OS don't support WPA and its various permutations. I run into this a lot on the Pismos and clamshell iBooks that I refurbish. Usually need a specific version of Panther and Airport Utility to successful use WPA. You could always try switching to router security settings to WEP, just to see if that solves your problem.
