Yes! to Crippy Duck

Dear Fellow Powerbook Lover:

YES YES to the Crippy Duck. I just got mine today. I actually ordered it from Singapore, and it got her in a week. They even had the orange color I liked. Go to http://www.crumplerbags.com/macindex.html. I love the Duck: It is padded *and* cool. What I like about it is it doesn't look like a dorky computer bag. I got the Large size, and it fits my 15" PowerBook G4 like a glove.

Hope that helps!

After checking out all the bizillion bags and all the web sites you all provided...I will probably get the Crumpler Wee Bee or the Crippy Duck. I think it's cute. What sucks is that I can't find it at any store yet...unless I fly to Australia. *sigh* I've seen other Crumplers and I like the way they are made and I like the colors. The one Crumpler store in NYC here doesn't have them yet...they said maybe in a week...more waiting. :(

Does any one happen to have the Wee Bee or Crippy Duck?? Do you like it? Any dislikes?[/QUOTE]

I just ordered my 15 incher on Monday and can't wait for it arrive! I ordered the Detour bag from timbuk2.com: http://www.timbuk2.com/detour.t2
It's pretty schweet because it provides a tight fit for the laptop and has extra pockets for other stuff (which I will definitely be using for all my law books!). Another cool factor is the "detractable shoulder straps." Basically, you carry the bag three different ways. First, you could carry it with the one handle at the top. Second, you could carry it like a messenger bag. Or, third, you could unzip a pouch for the shoulder straps to use. It's a pretty nifty feature since sometimes I feel lobsided with messenger bags. Anyways, have fun making your selection!

I have the wee bee in Navy blue by Crumpler and I am generally satisfied. Some problems I have are 1) no outside pockets for easy access to stuff
2) a little too small for all my stuff
3) not padded enough (I feel)
4) you have to take out other stuff in order to open and close the seperate laptop compartment.

It is a nice looking, strong, waterproof bag.

update.

Having used my wee bee for about a month now, and I am buying a new bag. As it is a shoulder bag it knocks against my body too much and I am a little worried about doing damage to my powerbook. I find it annoying that I have to take out my other stuff in order to take out my laptop.
I am buying the Acme slim 12" tomorrow. I will review it after I have used it.

Can someone tell me if the iSkin Exo case works with the 3G 40GB iPod Dock WITHOUT removing the iPod from the case?

...Or recommend a good minimal case (ie.,with no cover flap, but protects all but dial & menu buttons) that does work with the Dock?

You have to take half the case off to use the dock, i find it easier to just use the dock connector straight on the ipod and have no probs. I have an iskin exo (fluro green) and exo2. The isin exo 2 is a far better case, don't get an exo ver1. The exo 2 has a built in dock connector flap so minimal junk gets into the ipod.

Also for powerbook cases
get a crumpler mcbains love child, i just got mine and its great and looks cool too. (www.crumpler.com)

i recommend (after alot of FW troubles) that you recharge you ipod using the AC adapter and only connect to the mac when necessary. This way your ipod charges quicker, doesn't drain the battery if the FW port fails at all and just makes life easy.
