Powerbook or MB?

Hi,

I've found an ad for a powerbook 1.67 for £500 or nearest offer. Do think this would be a good deal if I could get it for around £450 or would a refurb MB be a better idea?

Depends...would either have a warranty, I know the refurb would, but would the PB?

You would be buying the last generation of the Powerbook (I have the 1.67 15" and love it), and one of the first generations of the MB.

If you could get Applecare or a related warranty on both, then I would go with the newer computer for the same price. Otherwise, you would be covered for a year at least (and you could buy Applecare anytime before that year is up). You never know what can go wrong, although they are great, they are still computers.

3 of my friends that bought the same computer as I had problems with their lower ram slots, and one had to get a Hard Drive replaced. Luckily, they were all covered by their respective warranties.
