Remember the problems with the trackpad that cropped up on the last revision PowerBook? They're back with a vengeance. Nearly every thirty seconds the cursor will slow down and I'll have to hold my palm to the trackpad for a few seconds before I can use it again. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I don't know if this is the cause, but it seemed to pop up not long after I installed the Java 2 SE 5.0 Release 3 update. I'd do a clean reninstall of the system, but I don't have an external drive on which to backup my files. Any ideas or suggestions?

Well, start by resetting your PMU. In the meantime, I find tapping the track pad with my fingernail is more effective than squashing it with my palm if you want it to start behaving itself. 🙂

Super. I find my track pad playing up a little when it gets hot, particularly during hard drive intensive stuff. Maybe it just needed a rest/restart. 🙂
