PowerBook Won't Recognize Drive...

Hi everyone. I just bought a 320gb Western Digital MyBook Premium edition external hard drive. My issue is that my PowerBook will only recognize the drive if I have it plugged in via USB. I want to use firewire but its not working.

What can I do?
