The UK Apple Refurb Store is currently open every day at 11am and they have a good 20-25% off of all the powermacs (i.e. pick up a quad for just a little over a new DC 2.3)

Anyone think this is of significance? Most of the time when they're open every day it's because they're flushing out loads of stock, but there's nothing on the usual grapevines...

wow. a Quad for that price... it's time's like these I really wish I was in the U.S. or UK. :D

btw - for anyone wondering, the UK refurb store is here:
it's funny though, i couldn't see any items in the UK refurb store?

the U.S. refurb store though, has had 15-32% off on various model PM G5's for a few weeks now...

unfortunatley Apple Australia doesn't sell refurb - they just auction them to resellers, who in turn sell to the public. still i saw a really good deal last week - Dual 2.7 G5 for AU$2399!! i was way too slow on that one and missed out... but chances like that are few and far between here in Aus. :(

I can only hope that they'll send over some refurb Quads so they can get into the Aussie market for a good price. :D

i swear i went to the link i posted yesterday, and there were no items listed?!

20% off a Quad is pretty good. i'm getting really desprate now... my PB has been in the shop for 13 days now to replace a dead hard drive. and it seems as if there's a drought of refurb/2nd hand PowerMac's on Aussie soil. i'm beginning to seriously consider buying a refurb from the U.S. or U.K. store and just do without the warranty...

question: i know the warranty on the machine is only vaild on PowerMac's in the country of puchase. as well as AppleCare. but i can't get it into Australia and then purchase Aussie AppleCare for it can i? i've got a feeling that would be too convenient... :(
