hi there,
Recently purchased an absolute bargain, powermac G4 gigabit ethernet dual 450mhz- for £150 GBP. Machine is good- and with some cheap ram is doing pretty well- however I bought it as a video editing solution, against my power book- attracted by the possibility to add sata drives. Thing is, obviously need a pci sata card- but slightly unsure what to go for. There are a few options, and being new to sata- im a bit unsure of what to go for- here are my current options-
Sonnet Tempo-X PCI eSATA 4+4 Expansion Card- with 3gb/s transfer support,

or
XFX REVO 64 SPU 3 Port Sata Raid Card (*Mac Only)
http://www.scan.co.uk/search/search.asp?criteria=xfx+revo&Submit=Go
this thread is getting pretty lengthy (im a forum newbie) so ill cut to the chase-
will the XFX raid card do exactly the same thing as the sonnet card- ie allow my oldschool mac to have control of the planned 2-3 sata2 drives I plan to get, without having to install some other piece of hardware?
(disregard the fact that sonnet has eSATA connections).
If any one knows the answer, would be much appreciated,
many thanks,
JM
