Hello, I just acquired a PowerMac G4 MDD (167MHz Bus) from Japan, and I also got a dual cpu daughtercard (7455B DP) to upgrade it with. I've already installed it and everything boots and works like normal, but I'm not able to see any sensor info for the CPU temps/fan speeds with either QuickFans or G4FanControl, and the fan speed seems to be at a low fixed speed. The system overheats very quickly if I run anything too demanding unless I have an external fan cooling it. So my question is, do I need a specific driver/kext to detect the sensor/fan speed info or is there something wrong with my logic board?

EDIT: even with an external cooling solution (big box fan over the heatsink), I'm still getting random kernel panics. So maybe it's something with the logic board or openfirmware?

Upon running AHT I get this error pretty quickly in either test run, no idea what it means though

I believe it's on the latest version (4.4.8f2).

Does it work fine with the original CPU installed?
Yes it was perfectly stable with the few hours it had the single CPU.
Though since the AHT post I installed CHUD 3.5.2, enabled Nap, and reset the PMU/PRAM (there is no battery though) and it has been stable for the whole day. Maybe the high idle temps where the cause for instability? I ran Geekbench 2 a few times to see if I could manually cause a KP and nothing so far.

I only turn my MDD on during winter to heat the room I'm working in. LOL. I've had it for years never seen any overheating (It's never crashed). I think it used to be "kicknamed" the wind tunnel, blows hot air. Using Tiger 10.4. Make sure every 6 months to blow out the dust. I take it outside and use my electric leaf blower. Maybe you have a blown out fan, or you need to add more.

I found the real problem last week, the PSU was dying. It started showing the common symptoms such as not powering on after a shutdown (have to unplug and replug) and peripherals and PCI cards randomly losing power. I bought a ATX PSU adapter and a SATA PCI card, and since installing it today, all of my issues have gone away
