have a look inside but unplug first....

I've got a new mac. It works great. Thanks...but I can't just throw away a mac!

Plus, it's interesting to me to learn more about these - so Im trying to get it working and asking for advice.

Anyone else mind helping me?[/

Hi there,

I would not throw away the mac, it still would work great as a file/media server or stuff like that. Regarding your powersupply you may consider to look up ebay for that. (Sometimes a G4 case is sold with the PSU)

Do you have any clue about electrical engineering?
There might be just a fuse gone inside your powersupply that is easy to find and replace. (the little glass tubes, usually white).
Usually a PSU dies only because of some serious things like lightning or short peaks in your outlet. If the PSU is serious damaged you can even smell it.(You may considder a battery driven UPS in the future if you have more bad powerpeak.)

Unplug first, otherwise ..... uuaaahhahahahahzzznznzn ....:D
