My friend was nice enough to give me his old G4 since I have nothing to do now that they are back in school, and I'm not. So, the other day, we removed the secondary hard drive, but before I could remind him, the hard drive was out and didn't use a grounding strip. Now, I don't know if it could be that the hard drive is bad, or the motherboard.

Currently, I hit the power button, I hear the OS tone-but is stops short, like less than half the tone. Really weird.

But anyways, if I do have to replace some stuff, can you give me some links for some good deals on replacements (motherboards, hard drives, etc.) like one of your favorites, because I haven't come across any problems with Macs, so I have no insight in to really reliable repair websites.

Look inside for a small button. Press it, then try to start it up again.

80% of the time, you don't need a grounding strap.
