I have a PowerMac G5 that I got for free and I would like to upgrade the ram and maybe even the hard drive if it's cheap. Just wondering what kind of restrictions I would have spec-wise..like could I use DDR3 ram? I also would love to upgrade the USB 1.0 port to a USB 2.0 as it SUCKS having the slow USB 1.0. Wouldn't mind upgrading the firewire aswell.. Sorry about the lack of details I'm typing this on my iPhone...

Without knowing exactly which model, we can't tell you which RAM to get etc.

You could potentially upgrade the USB, if it has an expansion slot.

No, you can't use DDR3.

It's a powermac g5 double mirror door. What other specs do you need?

^^^ I'll assume that you meant G4 ...

Here is the RAM you need, it supports up to 2GB, so two of the kits I linked will max it.

Here is a card you can add that will give you USB2 and more FireWire 400 ports.
