J jonty14 macrumors newbie Original poster Dec 22, 2009 #1 Hi, I have the above mac and it has 8 dimm slots for memory, it is currently running 2 x 256MB so a total of 512MB i want to take it up to 4GB but not sure what memory I need ddr or ddr2 - pc 3200 or pc4600 - 184slots or 240slots can anyone help thanks

rickvanr macrumors 68040 Dec 22, 2009 #4 Yep, standard SATA. RAM is supposed to be in pairs iirc. PC3200 RAM is cheap (~$40), get as much as you can afford, because it probably won't stay cheap.
