Powermac G5 Memory Question

In the office we have a powermac g5 dual 1.8, that has four memory slots. Could I use 4 2 gig cards on this and get 8 gigs of memory, or will that not work? The specs say a maximum of 4 gigs....?

We still need more information. There was a dual 1.8 that could take four and a dual 1.8 that could take eight.

Oh, wait. Four slots? 4GB is the maximum, then.

They do make 2gb chips but those won't work in the G5 🙁
