The ATI X800 or fireGL cards are the fastest I've seen in PPC macs.

I've have had a 7800GTX in my G5 for a long time and a fairly heavy gamer on it too but never had one single problem or bug. I imagine it depends on cooling, how it's flashed etc.

Mind if I ask which rom you flashed on it? I'm picking up a 7800 GTX (BFG) for a Power Mac G5 (single dualcore 2.3 ghz model A1117) alongside a new power supply and will just need to flash a firmware for it.

Hi to all! I bought a old gt 7800 bfg flashed, but i have sorrow that the power supply wont resist. I have the cddrive, hd + ssd, and no connector for the card can i split the cd power cable? Is it enougth or should i remove 1 Hd drive? Thanks to all

yes, the 7800, can you give advice, ive seen some from hongkong on ebay for 100ukp, but im not 100% sure coming all that way. i love the build quality, i already tried running debian 8 linux on it it pretty much runs anything i throw at it i have founds mac roms, but not sure which 7800 to pickup if i were to do it myself.

I would suggest the ATI card if you're gonna run Linux. Nvidia opensource drivers are crap.
