Has anyone used the PowerPhotos software and had success with it?

I'm just about to migrate to a new MacBook Pro and figured it was time I sorted out my previous photo libraries. I need to merge a 'Photos' library with an 'iPhoto' one and in the process I want to remove all duplicate photos that may have been imported over time.

This software seems to do all of the above but I just wanted to see if anyone had used it before spending money on it.
